Beth Abraham Cemetery

Beth Abraham owns and operates a cemetery and burial society (Chevra Kadisha) for the use of the membership of the synagogue.  The beautiful 20-acre cemetery is located on West Schantz Avenue, two blocks west of the synagogue.  This has been our cemetery since it was purchased in the early 1930s.  The site has an on-site chapel for funerals and a full time caretaker. The cemetery is open for visitors six days a week (Monday through Sunday) from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm and closed on Saturday, with other hours by appointment.  Please call 937-293-9520 for more information.

The Beth Abraham Synagogue Cemetery follows conservative practice for burial.   The use of a Chevra Kadisha is mandatory, no cremations are allowed, and there are certain restrictions on headstones and memorials.   The Cemetery Rules and Regulations 2012.doc are available for review.

The Beth Abraham Chevra Kadisha Society is available to assist with all aspects of Jewish burial, including initial arrangement for the funeral, all preparations for the funeral including Taharah and Shomrim, attendance at the funeral, and insuring that the family has the ritual items needed for the shiva period.   The synagogue can also assist with insuring the family has an initial shiva meal at the family home or at the synagogue.

To inquire about purchasing plots, request assistance with a funeral, or for any other cemetery questions, please contact the synagogue office.
