DESCRIPTION:Rav Glazer invites you to join him for a journey through Jewish
  thought. Classes begin Monday\, August 15 and continue weekly on Mondays 
 for a total of 10 sessions. There will be a break for the High Holidays. R
 EGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS FREE COURSE (see below).\n\nWhat ma
 kes Jewish learning so compelling while so seemingly unique? Jewish Though
 t touches on universal themes of spirituality\, ethics\, psychology\, and 
 society using a uniquely Jewish vocabulary drawn from Torah. Every histori
 cal era creatively uses Torah stories\, metaphors\, and teachings to advan
 ce our understanding. In this course we will become acquainted with these 
 many facets of Torah as they appear\, evolve and transmit wisdom across Je
 wish history. We will sample from a tasting menu of Great Books on the Jew
 ish bookshelf\, classic texts from Biblical Poetry\, Narrative and Law as 
 well as Talmud\, Midrash\, Philosophy\, Medieval Torah commentary\, Kabbal
 ah\, Hasidism\, and Poetry. When we learn the multiple lenses of Jewish th
 ought\, we gain keys to vast resources of spiritual teaching that will cre
 ate more colors to paint upon the canvas of our thinking for the journey o
 f self and community. Consider this course a tasting menu of the banquet o
